The Albritton Group focuses on developing community-based HIV/STD prevention interventions, particularly for underrepresented minority adolescents and young adults in urban and rural communities. They employ mixed-methods and participatory approaches to examine multilevel factors influencing disparities in sexual and reproductive health among historically disadvantaged populations. Dr. Albritton’s research emphasizes study designs that center on the voices of adolescents, young adults, parents, and medical providers who care for adolescents. She collaborates with public health administrators and community-based organizations to implement research promoting equitable community health. In addition to her research and faculty roles, Dr. Albritton serves as Director of the Community Engagement Core for the School of Medicine’s NYCenter for Advancing Translational Research and Health, a member of the National Research Centers in Minority Institutions program funded by the National Institutes of Health.
