Student wellness is essential to academic success. Throughout the year, student leaders from the Wellness Club, Wellness Committee, and other Special Interest Groups (SIGs), along with Student Government, collaborate with the Counseling and Wellness Center to organize activities that promote fitness, relaxation, mental health, and social connection. The Counseling and Wellness Center provides administrative support and some funding to help bring these efforts to life.

The following student-led wellness activities opportunities for relax, move, free your mind, and socialize.

  • Dog Therapy: Once a month, students can spend time with certified therapy dogs to reduce stress and boost their mood.
  • Crochet Club: This weekly gathering provides a relaxing space to unwind, learn new skills, and create with fellow students.
  • Medicine in Motion: Meeting weekly, this club encourages students to stay active through walking or running while promoting mindfulness and movement.
  • Active Minds: A student-led group focused on mental wellness, advocacy, and peer support.

Wellness Days

In addition to student-led activities, the Counseling and Wellness Center hosts Wellness Days throughout each semester to give students time to relax and recharge. Held in the student lounge on the first floor of Harris Hall, these events feature:

  • Arts and crafts for creative expression
  • Massage therapy to relieve tension
  • Healthy food to nourish the body and mind
  • A raffle with fun prizes
  • Live music by Sophie Beats, the student musical group

For students whose schedules require virtual evening activities, the Wellness Days also offer offer evening online sessions that cover such topics as healthy eating on a budget and other practical wellness strategies.
