BS/MD Requirements

Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the CUNY School of Medicine

To be considered for admission to the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the CUNY School of Medicine, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a high school graduate by June 30, 2025
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 85 across the first three years of high school
• Submit three personal essays
• Submit five letters of recommendation

Please note that submission of ACT or SAT scores is optional for applicants in the 2024 to 2025 admissions cycle.

Eligibility for Transfer Students

Transfer students who have completed no more than one semester of college-level coursework are eligible to apply. These students must have a minimum college grade point average of 3.5 and be enrolled in at least one laboratory science course during their first college semester.

College credits earned prior to high school graduation will not be counted toward transfer eligibility. However, if you have completed college courses and wish to be considered for credit, you must include an official college transcript with your application.
