To the CUNY School of Medicine Community,
As you may know, there was a report of a secondary case of measles on the City College campus. The City College Office of Student Affairs has released an Important Health Notice and is working with the New York City Department of Health. The NYC DOH has a website that provides information for those with questions regarding the disease.
And as you may have been following in the media in recent weeks, the greater Harlem neighborhood has been experiencing a community cluster of Legionnaires’ Disease that continues to be monitored by the NYC Department of Health. While Legionella bacteria had been found in testing of the Marshak Building cooling tower on the City College Campus, CCNY has provided an update indicating that the tower has been remediated and a subsequent test is negative.
