BS/MD: A Pathway to a Medical Degree
The Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program at the CUNY School of Medicine is one of the most distinctive medical education tracks in the U.S., offering a seamless, accelerated path from college to medical school.
Designed for high-achieving high school graduates from a wide range of backgrounds, this combined BS/MD program prepares students to become compassionate, skilled, and professionally responsible physicians, with a strong orientation toward practicing medicine in communities facing healthcare provider shortages.
How It Works
- Integrated Curriculum: Students earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Sciences in the first three years of study.
- After successful completion of the undergraduate phase, students transition directly into the MD program, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the CUNY School of Medicine.
- Both degrees are conferred by The City College of New York.
