Harris Hall has numerous gathering spaces for CUNY School of Medicine Students, from individual study spaces to group pods, to a student lounge with a pool table, ping pong, and microwaves. There are also numerous computer rooms for students to utilize. Classrooms and the student lounge can be utilized for club and SIG events, but prior notice must be given to the Office of Student Affairs to accommodate your event, and ensure the space is set up properly and cleaned after the event.

To Reserve the Student Lounge

Please use the RedCap form below to submit your request to utilize the student lounge for an event. Submit your request to the Office of Student Affairs and include as many details as possible – how many people will attend, whether there will be food, and whether you need tables set up a certain way (with a diagram). This info then gets passed along to CCNY Facilities who set up and break down the room, as well as clean up any food. We also notify CCNY Public Safety for any events in Harris Hall taking place after hours.

All requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.

Reserving a classroom or the Clinical Skills Lab

Contact Owen Williams, Director of Education Technology, at Owilliams2@med.cuny.edu and CourseAdmin@med.cuny.edu at least two weeks in advance. Include any requests for AV Support, if needed.

The Clinical Skills lab has a 40-person capacity, and no food is allowed.

Reserving rooms in CCNY Facilities (NAC Ballroom, Faculty Dining Room, etc)

Contact the Office of Student Affairs who can submit a request through the CCNY Events Office. For this option, please contact Ethan Newman, Student Life Coordinator (enewman1@med.cuny.edu), who will assist with the process. Requests must be placed at least one month in advance and are subject to the availability as determined by City College.

Events planned through the Office of Student Affairs and CCNY Events Office are subject to the processes and protocols of the CCNY Events Office – The Office of Student Affairs will work with SIGs and other student groups not officially recognized by CCNY to organize your event, as long as any budget request has been approved and you have identified a faculty or staff sponsor for your event – as they must be present during your event.
